MEMBERSHIP AT PARK CHURCH
Membership in the church is different than in other organizations. A member is not someone who has met the requirements to receive benefits withheld from outsiders. A member does not pay dues in order to be a part of a club.
The bible refers to people who are gathered into communities of faith as members of Christ’s body. By God’s design and initiative, he brings people together into relationship with himself, one another, and the world as members of his church. Their relationships with Jesus, each other, and the world are distinctive.
Since Jesus is the head of the body, which is the church, the member trusts Jesus. In obedience to him, and with the help of the Holy Spirit, the member loves others in the community. And as an active participant in the work God gives his church, the member serves the world. Empowered by God, the church’s members take part in God’s mission.
