We live in a politically charged cultural moment. It seems that the divide between the left and the right couldn’t be any wider, or more volatile. Sadly, rather than being salt-and-light in a decaying and seemingly dark political climate, Christians often contribute to the problem. As Jesus-followers, we are called to give our ultimate allegiance to Jesus and his kingdom – God’s kingdom. How do we do this? How can we faithfully follow the Lamb in the midst of a donkey/elephant war? This series aims to present a vision of Christian political engagement that is Christ-centered, hope-filled, non-partisan, and helpful.
Have you ever noticed that there are two stories (one on the left, and one on the right) out there that seek to shape us? Us too. And they're powerful. But the true story that ought to shape us is even more powerful still. And it's the one true story of the world.
As we kick off our series to explore what it looks like to follow Jesus in this politically charged culture, we ask, how did Jesus enter into his politically charged culture? As a King in His Kingdom. Check this one out!
